AI IN MITCHELLS PLAIN
AI IN MITCHELLS PLAIN BOOTCAMP
AI in Mitchells Plain hosted 60 girls aged 15 – 18 from Beacon Hill Secondary School, Lentegeur Secondary School, Portland High School, Oval North High School and Westridge High School in Mitchells Plain. They underwent a three-day boot camp which culminated in an exciting round of pitching.
We put participants through a social challenge under the principle of ‘AI for Good’, which entailed finding an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based solution to a community problem aligned to the UN sustainable development goals. The learners were exposed to AI concepts and ethics, as well as the design thinking process, pitching techniques, building chatbots and working with image classifiers.
